Fathima Arts and Science College was established in the year 2013, affiliated to the University of Calicut is situated in the naturalistic rural area of Moothedam, Nilambur which is on the foothills of Western Ghats near to Mukurthy National Park in Nilgiris. The college was founded by the Corporate Educational Agency of the Catholic Diocese of Bathery. The founder manager/patron of the college is His excellency most Rev.Dr.Joseph Mar Thomas (Bishop of Bathery).The contribution of the first Principal Dr.R.Raveendran Pillai,Vice Principal Fr.Martin Vilanguparayil, Bursar Fr.Thomas Thundiyil and the Local Manager Fr.John Manayil in planting and developing the college in tune with the motto enshrined in the Eparchy of Bathery is unparallel.

The college was started with the objective of imparting quality education to the backward communities, particularly to those who are in the remote rural areas of malappuram district. The Corporate Educational Agency of the Catholic Diocese of Bathery has always cherished value based education. The fast development of Fathima Arts and Science College owes much to the foresighted vision of Rev.Dr.Joseph Mar Thomas .The official inauguration of the college was on October 4th 2013 by His beatitude Baselios cardinal cleemis Catholicos. The college continues its cherished journey of higher education today in exact in standards in the individual, spiritual, intellectual, social aesthetics and physical developments of students. Presently the college provide 13 undergraduate Arts and Science courses and Two Post Graduate courses M.A English Language and Literature & M.Com Finance.
