The Department of English sprouted its roots on the year 2013. The Department offers postgraduate and undergraduate program in English language and literature. The Department plays an active role in the cocurricular activities of the college. Every year English department plays a leading role in department fests, tours, webinars and seminars. A minor in English provides an opportunity for students who major in other field to pursue their interest in developing expertise in writing, communication and literary studies. The PG Department of English with its two programs: BA English Language and Literature and MA English strive to train students in literature, language and writing. The Department offers rich and varied courses that cover all literary genres such as a novel, drama, poetry and criticism. Studies of English Literature, linguistics, theories and many other courses are also offered. To strengthen teaching and research, and departments revises the curriculum and initiates necessary changes in teaching, learning process, evaluation practices at regular intervals and promote language across curriculum to help students of others departments to excel English language.

To foster knowledge and skills in English with an emphasize on Literature, language and communication skills which enable students to contribute effectively and responsibly to the society.
